Obsidian’s CEO On The Open-world Environment & Champion Characters In Avowed!
As per the research done by our team, the upcoming RPG game won’t be featuring an open-world environment, which was stated by the CEO of the developing company (Feargus Urquhart).
He stated that the Studio shifted to a more focused scope to emphasize Obsidian’s strengths and that Avowed will have a similar scale to Obsidian’s sci-fi RPG known as The Outer Worlds.
Feargus Urquhart stated, “We want to tell more confined stories that players can experience with their companions, and then move from part of the world to part of the world.”
The CEO of Obsidian Entertainment also stated that they wanted the champions in the game to feel really integral to the story and that in some other games, the champions are recruited optionally but in this game, they’re going to be tied to the story. Players can also bring two companions at a time, each with unique capabilities.
