Hades 2 Release Date List
Release Date – When is Hades 2 coming out?
Starting with the game’s release date, as of right now, Hades 2 does not have an official release date. Supergiant games did say, however, that they could give a definite answer to gamers only when the game is close to completion.
Many reputed sources have speculated that there is a good chance of the game’s full release happening in 2025, mainly because people expect the game to be in early access for a few years, just like the first one did before announcing its full release date. Still, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from the developers before we can believe these speculations.
On the other hand, moving on to slightly confirmed news, Supergiant Games is looking to release an ‘Early Access’ version of the game if the game’s official website and Steam Page description are to be believed. Fans have already started speculating that the early access version will be released in late 2023 for players who want to experience the game from its development phase to completion.

It is worth noticing that although the first game, Hades, was released in 2018, it wasn’t until 2020 that a fully completed game was released to the gaming community, so it is safe to assume that the developers might also look to replicate that formula this time. Still, only time will tell if it will indeed be so.
Please Note: Gamers are requested to take the dates mentioned here with a pinch of salt, as they have not yet been confirmed by anyone associated with Supergiant Games.
Reveal Trailer
As mentioned earlier, Hades 2 was announced last year to the gaming community during the Game Awards Live event through an exciting and well-put-together part cinematic and part gameplay trailer that surprised the crowd but excited them in equal measure.
Here, take a look at the reveal trailer for Hades 2:
Storyline
Hades was an action-adventure, dungeon crawler roguelike action game released in 2018 in which players play as Zegreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape his father’s realm, the underworld. During the game, he meets various Olympians who bestow upon him unique ‘gifts’ that will assist him in reaching his ultimate goal of reaching Mount Olympus.
In Hades 2, which also happens to be Supergiant Game’s first-ever sequel, the story of the initial protagonist is presumably completed. Instead, players will now take on the role of Zegreus’s sister, Melinoe, the immortal princess of the underworld, as she goes up against Chronos, the Titan of Time, and his forces by using all the powers and skills granted to her by the Olympians in a story that is full of twists and unexpected turns.
Although this game is a direct sequel to the first game, players who have not played the initial one can rest easy as one does not necessarily need to play the first game to understand the lore that these two games might share. There are hints and references to the first game spread throughout the new game, but it should not be a big issue for a new player who hasn’t played the first part to catch up on the game’s theme quickly.
Gameplay Features
In the soon-to-be-released dungeon-crawler sequel, players will once again roam through the various colorful arenas and dungeons of the underworld by controlling Melinoe, battling and slaying various mythical beasts and gods alike on their way out.
Melinoe must master the essence of dark sorcery to such an extent that not only will foes she faces perish in front of her unrivaled power, but she will become ‘an immortal sorceress with deadly skill, powerful magical abilities, and a selection of lethal shadowy weapons,’ precisely like how Supergiant Games intended her to be.
Moreover, to further enhance her powers, she is blessed with unique ‘gifts’ from several iconic Olympian Gods that include the likes of Apollo, the god of sun and light, and Zeus, the god of sky and thunder.
The trademark isometric view and slick, fast-paced combat mechanics of the game look set to make a return to this sequel, but they aren’t the only elements, as even the artistic, punchy colors of the surroundings in the game are making a triumphant return but look more vibrant in comparison this time, giving the underworld a much livelier appeal than before.

Platforms
Coming to the information we have regarding which platforms the game will be available to play on, as per Supergiant Games’ official website, they will initially be releasing an early access version of the game on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
They plan on bringing the game to consoles, but so far, they have not noted an exact date for it. They will only do so when they are close to completing the development of the game.
The first game, Hades, was released on platforms like PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, and we expect Hades 2 to follow suit, but only time will tell whether that will indeed be the case or not.
Conclusion
This is all the information we could bring you today regarding the release date, gameplay features, storyline, platforms, and more of the next game in this impressive action-adventure, roguelike game series developed by Supergiant Games, Hades 2.
