Europa Universalis 5 will be a great strategy video game developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Strategy First. Its first game came out in 2000. The game is based on a board game by Phillipe Thibaut that was released in 1993.
As of now, there have been 4 installments of the game, all developed by Paradox Development Studios. Europa Universalis has a separate fan base in the gaming community and is one of the most played grand strategy video games.
Europa Universalis 5 Release Date
Well, there has been no official announcement about the release of Europa Universalis 5. The developers are likely to milk EU4 for some more time. According to a news report, the publishers have no plans of developing EU5 as of now.
You can visit the Paradox Interactive Forum and read what other players have to say about the release of EU5.
In an interview with Wargamer, developer Johan Andersson talked about the potential release of the sequel to EU4, when asked will there be EU5, he said “eventually” adding “But it’s like, eventually, we’re all gonna die also. So that’s the only good answer there is.”
He further says that they are currently focusing on EU4 and that they have planned to introduce “more expansions” into the game. So, players expecting a hasty release of EU5 are going to get their hearts broken.
EU4 has currently 20,000 daily active players and the day when players will get bored of EU4 and start demanding EU5 is far from sight however, we believe that the game might be released in 2026.
Europa Universalis 5 Trailer
Well as we stated earlier that there has been no official announcement about the EU5. As you know when Paradox announces the release of its new title, it will be accompanied by a trailer and we’d be the first one to update it here.
But if you want to enjoy the 8th-anniversary trailer of EU4 it is right here
Europa Universalis 5 Gameplay
The core idea of Europa Universalis 5 is not going to differ from its predecessor, EU4. Developers might include some extras into the new game to make it a little different from EU4. They also know that if they want to make sales with the new game, they have to bring something new and exciting to the new title.
In EU4 The game starts roughly at the end of the Middle Ages, marking the beginning of the Early Modern Era, the timeline of the game is from 11 November 1444 to 3 January 1821 AD.
The whole game is played over a map, it is a digitalized version of the board game developed by Phillipe Thibaut. The map of the Earth is divided into several nations which consist of several provinces.
A player is required to lead a nation by making smart decisions. Players have many choices in the game, they can set up trades with other nations, set up their colonies, wage wars against other nations, annex them into theirs, and much more.
Europa Universalis 5 Platforms
Well, Europa Universalis 4 is a PC-only game and it hit the markets long back in 2013, i.e, 9 years ago. So, there are good chances that when EU5 is rolled out, it will also be released for Playstations, Xbox, and other major consoles like Switch and Stadia. Currently, Europa Universalis 4 supports Microsoft, macOS, and Linux ( all PC operating systems).
It is almost certain if Paradox rolls out Europa Universalis 5 as cross-platform supported it is only going to attract more players.
Europa Universalis 5 System Requirements (expected)
As you already know, the officials are yet to announce the details about Europa Universalis 5, there is no information from the developers’ side regarding the system requirements of the game as well. But, we can guess the system requirements with considerable accuracy for EU5.

Europa Universalis 5 Rumors
The game is not much in the talks right now, but some people have been talking about the release date of Europa Universalis 5; maybe because it has been 9 years since we have seen a release from Paradox. Well, all we can tell you is that EU4 still has some life left and the game will not get anywhere for the next 2 years or so.
Players have been expecting the start of Europa Universalis to be a bit earlier than 1444 (the starting year for EU4), maybe developers will keep that in mind while designing the next awaited title.
We are not expecting the release of EU5 anytime before 2024. Though it is for sure when it will be released, it is going to be a success.
