Tier C | Finally, C Tier fighters are the weakest and players should definitely avoid using them unless they wanna lose. |

Tier S
1. Johnny Cage
FATALITY | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Hollywood Walk of Pain | Forward, Back, Down, 2 (Close) |
Fatality 2 – Krash And Burn | Forward, Down, Back, 4 (Mid Range) |
Johnny Cage has always been a strong Mortal Kombat fighter; this time, he has become more terrifying than ever. His combo moves and abilities are stronger than ever, and his special moves are insane and can really eliminate players easily.
His hype ability makes him go insane, and his combo moves can inflight an immense amount of damage to the opponents. Johnny Cage has always had great potential to be the best fighter and he surely is one of the best in this game.
2. Raiden
FATALITY | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – The Storm’s Avail | Back, Forward, Back, Triangle (Close) |
Fatality 2 | Down, Forward, Back, Square (Mid or Long Range) |
Raiden truly is a gifted fighter, as it is impossible to spot any weakness in him. This new Raiden feels stronger than ever, and when paired with the right assist, this fighter can easily defeat every other fighter in the game.
His abilities and combos are super strong, which makes him one of the strongest fighters in the whole game, and if you have played any other MK game, then you must be aware that Raiden is also known as a God.
3. Baraka
FATALITY | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Split Decision | Back, Forward, Down, 1 (Close) |
Fatality 2 | Forward, Back, Down, 4 |
MK 1’s Baraka is truly a monster and unlike the previous games, he is much stronger and faster. His attacks deal a huge amount of damage to the players, and even after getting hits from the enemy, this fighter has no problem facing his opponents.
Players shouldn’t make the mistake of skipping on this character as he can surely increase their winning chances.
Tier A
1. Tanya
FATALITY | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Helping Hands | Down, Back, Down, 3 (Close Distance) |
Fatality 2 | Back, Forward, Down, 2 (Close or Mid Distance) |
Our first Tier A character is Tanya, and she is a total badass in mid-range with an impressive set of combo moves. She has excellent attacking skills, but her offensive skills aren’t that impressive; however, she indeed is extremely useful in tough fights.
Tanya is a strong fighter in Mortal Kombat 1, and her offensive teleport is excellent and can be extremely useful in specific scenarios. You should check out Tanya, as she surely is a tough character, and you wouldn’t want her to be your opponent.
2. Kung Lao
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Lao’d And Clear | Back, Forward, Back, 4 (Mid Distance) |
Fatality 2 | Back, Down, Down, 3 (Close Range) |
Ever wondered what would happen if a character possessed the most potent fast punch in the game, well in this new Mortal Kombat game Kung Lao is the fighter who possesses the most potent fast punch in the game in the form of his left-back punch.
He can easily Rick his opponents and defeat them using his different types of combo moves, not to mention his lethal fatalities, which can shatter his enemies into pieces.
3. Scorpion
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Eye-Palling Victory | Down, Forward, Back, Block (Mid Distance) |
Fatality 2 – Gang War | Back, Forward, Back, 2 (Mid Distance) |
Scorpion is like the face of Mortal Kombat games, and it would be a shame if we do not include this character on our list today. This menacing character has immense strength and abilities up his sleeves. However, Scorpion in this game has given up on his iconic blade and spear which some gamers believe to be a good thing, but you should let us know what you think about it, down below in the comments.
He is not the strongest fighter in the game, but still, he indeed gives his opponents tough fights, and if you’re a true MK fan then you must be aware of the fact that Scorpion isn’t one of those fighters that would give up easily.
Tier B MK1 Fighters
1. Kitana
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Royal Blender | Down, Forward, Down, 4 (Far Distance) |
Fatality 2 – Minty Fresh | Down, Down, Back, 4 (Close Range) |
The classic Katana is back in MK 1, and fans are extremely happy about it, on the other hand, this character is still great at troubling her opponents and teasing them.
Overall she is an average fighter in the game and does deal a reasonable amount of damage to the opponents. She used to be more potent in the recent entries of the game, but still, I would recommend you give her a try.
2. Rain
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – The Red Sea | Down, Down, Back, 4 (Close Range) |
Fatality 2 | Down, Forward, Back, 3 (Mid Distance) |
Another character that feels like a new fighter in MK1 is Rain, and he still has a superkick but other than that different move sets have replaced his every other move.
Even after having new move sets, Rain doesn’t seem to be a massive threat to his opponents, and only players who have mastered this fighter can ideally use him and eliminate fighters from Tier S and A.
3. General Shao
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Spin Cycle | Back, Forward, Down, 1 (Mid Distance) |
Fatality 2 | Down, Forward, Back, 1 (Mid Distance) |
General Shao was a former Kahn of the Outworld and he was indeed a menace for many Mortal Kombat fighters. His attacks inflict a lot of damage to the opponents, but he still falls short as his regular attacks are really slow and give time to his enemies to attack him.
His mid-range attacks aren’t the best options as they’re not robust and can make you lose sometimes, so be careful before using them. Overall, General Shao is an average fighter in Mortal Kombat 1.
C Tier Fighters
1. Havik
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Atomic Heart | Down, Forward, Down, 4 (Close Distance) |
Fatality 2 | Forward, Back, Down, 2 (Close Distance) |
Havik is a character that doesn’t deal much damage to his opponents and his combo moves are just okay and not really as powerful as those fighters in other Tiers.
He can end his combo and set up for an unlockable next hit when he finds an opening. Havik isn’t really useful against the majority of the characters in-game as they can defeat him easily.
2. Nitara
FATALITIES | BUTTONS |
Fatality 1 – Vaeternus KomBAT | Down, Down, Back, 1 (Mid Distance) |
Fatality 2 | Back, Down, Back, 4 (Mid or Far Distance) |
The final character on our Tier C is Nitara, and she was last seen in MK Armageddon, Nitara is a hypermobile rush-down character in this game.
Her wings allow her to perform an eight-way airdash, but her attacks lack strength which is a big downside. Overall, she is an okay character however, I wouldn’t recommend using her.
This was our Tier List of Mortal Kombat 1 characters, and we hope that you guys have all your answers by now. If you guys still have any doubts regarding any of the above-mentioned characters, then do let us know in the comments down below, and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
