Here at Benettonplay, we have listed everything we know so far about Skate 4, or skate. as its official name, from its release date, gameplay, speculated system requirements, and leaks.
After a long, long time, Skate is back. The last game in the series, Skate 3, was launched in 2010. Full Circle is working on the next Skate game, and there are some news and updates regarding the much-anticipated skateboarding game.
According to the official reports, the new game will not be a direct follow-up sequel to 2010’s Skate 3, and because of this, the new game title will be just Skating (and not Skate 4).

When is Skate 4 coming out? This is the question that every Skate fan is asking. Well, neither EA nor Full Circle has made a statement on Skate 4’s release date. EA announced the game in June 2020, in its pre-development stage.
EA tweeted the above video in 2020, announcing that Skate is back and that the development for the new Skate game is active. The developers are taking inputs from the community through an active playtest, which means the development is community-driven.
The game’s development process is expected to last another year and the game is expected to be rolled out in the market in 2024.
In July 2022, the developers announced that, unlike its predecessors, Skate 4 would be a free-to-play game and stated that the new Skate game would not be connected to the previous games in any manner.
This is the reason why the new Skate game is officially called ‘Skate.’ and not ‘Skate 4.’
Skate 4 Trailer
At the time of writing, there are a total of four videos on the Skate Official YouTube channel.
Two of them are “working on it” trailers, one is their “the board room” talk, and one is on the August playtest highlights.
There is no official trailer for the game as of now, and all we have is what has been uploaded on Skate’s YouTube channel.
The game is being developed using new physics.
Skate 4 Gameplay
Since the game is still in its early development stage, only playtest gameplay videos are available. The embedded gameplay footage that you can find below was uploaded on the official Twitter handle of the Skate.
Although the footage is not purely of the gameplay, we can see the game being developed in it.
No textures have been added to the characters and the environment and the sole focus is on getting the skating mechanics right that are true to Physics.
we're ???????????????????? working on it, but it's time for you to see what we've been up to. become a skate. insider and sign-up for playtesting at https://t.co/7Hh4xsMBxw ???? pic.twitter.com/WU8fto8HUj

In the video footage, we can see several skating tracks and railings upon which the in-game characters can be seen skating.
One key thing to notice in the gameplay footage is the use of ragdoll physics. In the beginning, we can see a character failing while trying to pull off a stunt and falling in the process.
The animations used to simulate the fall seemed pretty realistic and made us hope it would be a masterpiece whenever the game was ready.

Skate 4 Playtest
EA has started the insider program for Skate. The playtesting for the game has been going on for months and the developers are actively receiving feedback from the players.
If you’re 18+, then you can also sign up for the playtest and try to get a chance to play the game in its early development stage.
It should be noted that it is not guaranteed that you will be able to play the game through the playtesting feature; according to the Skate Faq page, EA will invite players for playtesting based on varying factors defined by their goals for testing at that time in development.
It should be noted that the playtesting feature is only available for PC via Origin, but EA is planning to include other platforms in the playtest feature as well.

Skate 4 Platforms
Well, it has been confirmed that Skate 4 is coming to PC for the first time. The game’s previous entries were released only on gaming consoles, but the new Skate title will also be available to play on PC. It has been confirmed on the Skate.
FAQ page that the game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The FAQ page also states that the devs are currently exploring Mobile phones as a possible platform, so it might also get released on mobile phones at some point.
It is also worth mentioning that the game will support cross-platform play, meaning players playing on any supporting device will be able to connect with players playing on all other supported platforms.
The game will also support cross-progression, meaning if you switch from one platform to the other, you will be able to continue your progress on that platform.
Skate 4 Leaks and Rumors
About two months ago a leak from the account of u/Parzalai on Reddit surfaced in which the leaker revealed the latest Skate 4 playtest build. The leaker provided a Google Drive link (now dead) with the latest gameplay footage and a screenshot of the game files (as seen below).
According to the comments on the post, it can be inferred that the game is nowhere near what the actual game would look like. There were no textures added to the game whatsoever. The playtest allowed players to test the game’s mechanics and physics elements.
Players are also required to fill out a feedback form at the end of the gameplay, telling developers about their gameplay experience.
The footage also showed the character customization feature (of course without textures). The footage also showed the game’s open world with several locations like North Hills, The Wharfs, Financial District, Civic Center, and others.
