Read on further to learn about Arma 4 release date speculations, the release of Arma Reforger, and everything we know about Arma 4.
Arma (stylized as ArmA) is a military simulation (mil-sim) video game series developed and published by Bohemia Interactive.
The first game of the series (Arma: Armed Assault) was released in 2006 and the most recent in 2022. There have been only 3 mainline games in the Arma series Arma 1, Arma 2, and Arma 3, every other release has been a DLC expansion with Arma III getting a whopping 14 DLC expansions
Bohemia Interactive made a big announcement on May 17, 2022, about Arma 4. They not only made an announcement confirming Arma 4 but they also released Arma Reforger, a new Arma title made on their new Enfusion Engine. We’ll discuss Reforger later in this article and include everything we know about it.
Arma 4 Release Date
The last mainline Arma title was released long back in 2013 and now the game is getting old, as stated earlier Bohemia has given Arma 3 a huge number of DLC expansions.
Fans have now started demanding Arma 4 and it looks like their requests have been heard by Bohemia, and the news from the center is that the next Arma title is currently being developed.
As of now, there is no announcement from Bohemia Interactive about the Arma 4 release date. On May 17, 2022, they confirmed that Arma 4 is currently in the making, and the long wait of fans for the next Arma title is now about to be over.
However, it could be speculated that Arma 4 is not coming out anytime before 2024. We hope that the developers release the game soon and we’ll update this article as and when the official details for the Arma 4 release date are out.
Arma Reforger
Bohemia Interactive released the Arma Reforger on the very same day it announced that Arma 4 was in the making.
Arma Reforger is made on Bohemia’s new Enfusion engine, the capabilities of which far exceeded Real Virtuality (the engine used for the development of the first three mainline Arma titles). Reforger has essentially been released to test out the capabilities of the new Enfusion Engine.
Here is the trailer of the game for you to enjoy.
The game is set on the fictional island of Everon and seems to have been inspired by Czechoslovakia. The timeline of the game is set in fictionalized scenarios of the 1980s where the Americans and the Soviets had gone up against each other.
The game takes you to an era of old military vehicles, equipment, and weapons. The release of Reforger gives us hints about what Arma 4 could look like.
Arma Reforger Multiplayer Game Modes –
- Conflict – Two teams join the battlefield to capture the strategic points and work together to hold on to them.
- Game Master – In this mode, you control the war events, create missions, or take up challenges created by other players.
Using the Workbench, players will be able to mod the Reforger using the exact same tools that are used in its development which then can be shared on Bohemia Interactive’s own integrated, repository service (Workshop) which can be downloaded and played by both the PC and console players.
According to Bohemia, they are planning to give Reforger a total of three major updates that will include new weapons, artillery, and features.
The developers are open to hearing out the thoughts of the Arma community and taking suggestions to make the game better and shape the future of the Arma series. Reforger will act as a transition from the old tech to the new tech of the Arma series.
Arma Reforger is currently in its early access state and you can play it after buying it from Steam. The game can also be played on Xbox Series X/S after purchasing it from the Xbox Games Store.

Arma 4 Trailer
Bohemia has not released any announcement or teaser trailer for their next big title, but they have released a trailer with the title Road to Arma 4, which we have embedded below for you to watch.
The trailer contains some old clips from the previous Arma titles, showing how it has come a long way. At the end of the trailer, we see the logo for Arma 4. Needless to say, when the official Arma 4 trailer gets released, we’ll be the first to link that here.
Arma 4 Gameplay
Arma series has always focused on infantry combat and there is no reason for us to believe that Bohemia is going to stray away from its staple gameplay features.
Similarly, vehicular and aerial combat will also be featured in Arma 4. Although it is going to be interesting where would Bohemia Interactive set their next Arma title.
However, chances are that the place is not going to be very far from any European countries, although these are just speculations and we never know if Bohemia is planning to give all of us a surprise.
Currently, we do not have any official or substantial information regarding what could be the gameplay elements of the game. Although we have kept our eyes and ears open, and if we get to find any of the information we will update that here.
Arma 4 Platforms
All the previous Arma titles have been developed for PCs only because of the large number of controls in the game. A console game controller just doesn’t have enough buttons to execute all the moves and stances in the game.
But, we know that the latest Arma title, Arma Reforger, is released for the Xbox and it is supposed to act as a bridge to Arma 4.
If all things go well, and if players do not seem to have any problems and hindrances in their gameplay, we might be seeing the first mainline Arma title on the consoles as well.
Having said that, Reforger as we know it is released for Xbox as well, and Bohemia is having a trial run of an Arma title on console, if everything works out fine and people seem to welcome Arma to the consoles, chances are we might be witnessing the first crossplay supported Arma title.

Arma 4 Rumors
A potential Arma leaker that goes by the name Biostiel, had been actively leaking info about Arma Reforger and Arma 4. The leaks surfaced in January 2021, with tweets containing screenshots of the Arma Reforger and other things about Arma 4.
In a tweet (now deleted), Biostiel stated that “Enfusion is not ready for large Arma game, Reforged is a testbed, sample. The main entry is years away.”
The statement made by Biostiel now seems to have come true, with Bohemia itself stating that Arma Reforged will pave the way for Arma 4 and it will act as a test bed for the new Enfusion Engine to check its capabilities and receive feedback from the Arma community. The tweet also mentions that the main entry is years away, hinting that Arma 4 could not arrive anytime soon.
The Twitter account of the leaker does not exist now and there are no other potential data miners that can dig for more info about the next Arma title. As soon as we get our hands on something significant, we will let you know. You can check the screenshots of the Twitter thread by clicking here.
